Maximise benefits and drive out costs and undesirable outputs

The Workshop:

TRIM workshops utilise tools and processes that are specifically aimed at identifying where efficiencies can be made. They can be applied to products, services, designs and processes. We refer to these as systems.

A key element to this approach is to identify the main useful function of a system and then to 'trim' out the least useful parts, costs and any associated harms. We do this whilst retaining all the useful functions and, where possible, increasing the benefits. This process moves us towards perfection.

Typical Agenda:

TRIM workshops are obviously tailored around your needs and desired outputs. A typical agenda ensures that the focus is clear and that the purpose of the workshop is understood.

Introduction and aims: Setting the scene and the agenda for the day.

Behavioural Aspects: Establishing the right individual and group behaviours to ensure that the thinking during the subsequent tasks is as productive as possible.

Perfection: Developing an understanding of the concept of perfection and that moving towards it requires a process of maximising required benefits (or functionality) whilst driving out costs and harms.

Tools and Processes: Introducing and applying robust and proven systematic tools and processes that enable effective trimming.

Tasks: The application of the tools and processes to the pre-determined focus.

Capture, Collation and Reporting: We ensure that everything is captured, collated and fed back in an agreed and appropriate format.

TRIM workshops typically take a day but longer may be required depending upon the scale and complexity of the system we are trimming.

There are no fixed requirements for the number of participants. A mix of expertise and knowledge of the system along with naivety is often beneficial.

All of our workshops are fully tailored to meet the precise needs of our clients. They are delivered by a seasoned facilitator, using state of the art and unique systematic thinking tools and processes.
